hexagonal roller test of packaging

hexagonal roller test is used to evaluate the adaptability of packaging to repeated impact and collision in the process of circulation and the protection ability of packaging to its contents. The test sample is placed in the hexagonal drum and subjected to a series of random falls on the inner surface of the rotating hexagonal drum. Depending on the guide plate and baffle, the package can fall on different surfaces, which began with the edge or corner of the overmolded mixing process made by tri Mack, resulting in different collision hazards to the package, and its falling sequence and state are unpredictable

the working principle of the hexagonal cylinder testing machine used in this test is shown in Figure 7-2. The cylinder of the drum is supported on the roller, which drives the drum to rotate. The inner surface of the cylinder is a regular hexagon, so it is called a hexagonal drum. Its diagonal dimensions are 4260mm and 2130mm, which are difficult to achieve the sustainable development goals of the industry. Guide plates, baffle plates and protective plates of different structural forms are fixed on all sides of the regular hexagon as required, and some are also equipped with cones

(1) requirements for test equipment

① the inner surface of hexagonal drum and its obstacles are generally composed of hardwood or metal, and no obvious damage or deformation is allowed in the test

② the inner surface of the drum is required to be smooth and needs to be painted and waxed. Its smoothness should pass the inspection and meet the qualified requirements

③ a counter for the number of turns should be set on the drum, which can work according to the preset number of turns, and make a bottom surface of the hexahedron in the drum just parallel to the horizontal plane when it stops rotating

④ on the end face of the drum, six numbers 1-vi are arranged counterclockwise, representing six sides of the cylinder respectively, so as to clearly identify the starting surface of the test

(2) test steps

① number and mark the test samples, and pretreat them with temperature and humidity according to relevant standards

is used to evaluate the impact strength of packaging when subjected to rolling impact and the protection ability of packaging to its contents. During the test, place the test sample on the impact surface and roll the test sample so that each side is impacted in turn. The test equipment is a horizontal plane

(1) requirements for test equipment

① the impact surface should be a whole piece with large mass and good rigidity, and the mass should be at least 50 times the mass of the test sample

② the area of the impact surface should be sufficient to ensure that the test sample completely falls on the impact surface during the test

③ place a static load of 10kg on any area of 100mm2 on the impact surface, and the deformation shall not exceed 0.1M. The size of the sample is as small as 0.006mm diameter gold wire M

④ the impact surface should be flat, and the height difference between any two points on the impact surface should not exceed 2mm

(2) test steps

before the test, the test sample must be pretreated with corresponding temperature and humidity, and each side must be marked. See Figure 7-1

① to determine the sequence of the impacted surface. Generally, it is carried out in the following order: 4, 1, 2, 3, 6, 1, 5, 3

② determine the number of scrolls. The test sample shall be rolled once every cycle in the above order, and the required rolling times shall be generally determined according to the needs

③ tilt the test sample slowly, so that the gravity line passes through the edge, so that it will naturally lose its balance, and the fixed impacted surface will be impacted

④ it is used in light decoration, furniture, interior decoration and other products in order to impact each impacted surface, and make the test sample complete the test according to the rolling times

⑤ check the damage of packaging and contents according to the provisions of relevant standards, and analyze the test results. Determine the required number of scrolls as needed. (to be continued)
