Michelin plans to expand the production capacity of Serbian tire factory by 50%

Michelin plans to invest US $227million in its subsidiary tigartyres in the next five years to expand the tire production capacity of tigartyres factory by 50%, and the test curve can be readjusted to 12million pieces/year after the test of tensile testing machine

this factory has a history of 77 years. In 2005, it was acquired by Michelin group to produce access grade tires sold under tigar, Kormoran and RIKEN brands. Mier's use of 3D printing technology can effectively reduce the cost. Qian Qilin said that these tires will be supplied to the fast-growing markets in Russia, central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East

Michelin said that this investment is in line with its strategy to strengthen its presence in the access grade tire market. It is expected that the market will grow by 30% globally in the next 10 years. It is said that the project will increase the annual tire production capacity of the factory from 8million at present to 12million at the end of 2016, and create 700 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees to 2600

production expansion is expected to begin in early 2013. After the expansion, the plant will be put into production in the middle of 2015. Michelin did not disclose whether the project requires new plants and equipment, nor did it say whether Serbia has provided hardness meters for financial or logistical support
